Saving Money and the Environment with Solar Power

You can’t see it from the parking lot, but on top of the Thurston County Food Bank warehouse is a solar energy system that is helping us save money and reduce our carbon footprint. Running a large warehouse with refrigerators requires a lot of energy, and reducing this operational cost has been a goal for us. We received funding in 2016 that allowed us to install this solar energy system, which means that every dollar we save on our electricity bill goes back to helping our clients!
