My name is Brenda and I have been passionate about helping others since being a CNA in 2015. After that I became a MAC and had the opportunity to work in an OBGYN office where I connected with patients during their time with us and provided resources. While I am not at work, I like to be surrounded by my family and close friends enjoying nature and good company.

Elisea began volunteering for TCFB in 2013, dedicating many hours a week to the Gleaning Program. After moving away and pursuing a career in retail management, she wanted to return to the food bank to pursue a more fulfilling career. With a great passion for food security and helping others, she brings positivity everywhere she goes! Working in client services, she ensures every human that comes into the food bank is served with compassion, dignity, and respect! Elisea enjoys nature, being on the water, traveling, family, art, her cats, and the color pink!

Viv has worked for the food bank since 2018 in a variety of positions, including as the School Gardens AmeriCorps for 2020. She is currently a Client Advocate, as well as the Lacey Farm Stand Coordinator. Her background is in sustainable agriculture and food security, and she feels very privileged to work with the TCFB. Her favorite fruit is the thimbleberry, and she enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, and creating art on the weekends.

Michael is our Volunteer Services Supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator at the Lacey Food Pantry. He has made the Pacific Northwest his home for the past 20 years. Michael has been very involved in the education, social services, and non-profit sectors for several years. He is very passionate about supporting his community and enjoying the beauty of the PNW.

David is the Volunteer Coordinator at our Olympia Food Pantry. He is an east-coast transplant who has been calling the Pacific NW home for the last twenty years. Prior to joining the Food Bank crew in 2023, he ran volunteer-staffed outreach programs at other celebrated local organizations. When not at work, he’s probably out gardening or biking.

A former volunteer primarily at our Olympia Food Pantry, Joe supports the volunteers at our Warehouse & Distribution Center to fulfill their collective desire to help our community. Joe’s other duties include promoting warehouse safety and pulling out Himalayan black berries. Joe enjoys asking/answering questions, walking, and general fun.

Anna-Min coordinates our weekend meal bags that are distributed through our local public elementary schools. In the summer months, she manages our Summer Lunch Program, providing free and nutritious lunches to children 18 years and younger at qualifying sites. When children and teens are out of school for breaks, she coordinates distribution of our Winter and Spring Break Activity Kits at our two main pantries. Lastly, she helps coordinate our Food Drives. In her spare time, Anna-Min enjoys cooking dinners, taking walks and weightlifting, and doing crossword puzzles (in pen)!

Rebekah coordinates the building and distribution of the Food Bank’s Home Deliveries, Satellites and our Mobile Partners while monitoring operations to ensure accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. She also coordinates our Other Bank Program, which distributes household and personal care items. Outreach and accessibility, especially regarding senior and rural communities, is a huge passion of hers — landing this job was a dream come true. Rebekah has lived in Olympia since 2012, worked in non-profits since 2015, and spends her time raising her kiddos and adding more and more animals to her family.

Isaac helps run the food bank’s government commodity programs, creates reports, and helps manage IT needs. Away from work, he acts in and directs community theatre productions. You can see his work at Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre, and Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia.

Cat is the Commodities Coordinator at the Food Bank where she aids in the allocating and reporting of state and federal food programs. She spends much of her time here at the warehouse, building orders for our TEFAP sub-agencies. During her off time she likes to garden, hang out with her animals, and travel anywhere new. Currently Cat is into pickling eggs, identifying flowers, and riddle podcasts.

Adam started as a volunteer for Thurston County Food Bank over ten years ago and is now our Logistics Liaison. Adam enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and his motorcycle. He does NOT like meetings.

Miranda began as a seasonal farmer for the Olympia Kiwanis Food Bank Gardens Program. In 2019 she joined our Grocery Rescue program. In her free time she likes to sew, write, and care for her animals.

Cozmo joined the Food Bank in 2020 in the Grocery Rescue Program. When not working he is either watching sports, out riding dirt bikes or hanging with friends and family.

Jonathan began as a Food Bank Distribution & Procurement Driver in 2022. His main job is transporting from our Warehouse Distribution Center to our main pantries and partnered organizations. Jonathan spends much of his downtime playing board games with friends, slowly learning to code, and consuming staggering numbers of audiobooks.

Cat has filled a few different roles at the Food Bank since 2019, and now they’re excited to join the Food Bank team as a Nutrition Coordinator! When Cat isn’t at work, they can be found listening to audiobooks, reading plays with friends, and trying to reach the very high snuggle quota set by their Chihuahua (Maggie) and cat (Jorah).

Claudia has been with the Food Bank since 2017. She came to us as a volunteer and was soon hired as our Food Demo–Nutrition Education Coordinator. Now she coordinates our Nutrition Programs.

As the Food Bank’s Agricultural Resource Supervisor, Mackenzie works with local growers to bring fresh, seasonal produce and farm products to Food Bank clients through the Olympia Kiwanis Food Bank Gardens, the Gleaning Program, and Farm to Food Pantry and other grants. She has been farming since 2009, and is excited to bring her passion for local food to the Food Bank by making sure that all community members have to access quality products, that farmers get fair prices for their products, and that all food finds a home. In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys walking in the woods with her dog, Arrow.

Michaela has been the School Gardens Program Coordinator since 2013 and has expanded her duties to become our Community Engagement Coordinator. Along with our School Gardens AmeriCorps and college interns, you can find her in local schools and community gardens, and engaging with our community in many capacities. Her passion is teaching children to observe the wonder of nature and the love of locally grown food.

Allison has had several prior roles at the Food Bank since 2017 — Gleaning Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator — and now works in Development & Communications, primarily with the website, marketing, social media and event support. Her first career was a ballet dancer with The Washington Ballet in D.C. and her grandfather designed the Banana Box!
