Why Support the Food Bank?
The Thurston County Food Bank prioritizes total health — physical, household, mental and emotional. We consider fresh, healthy foods to be a necessity and that access to personal care items and supportive services is not a luxury, but a right. We are committed to reducing barriers to accessing community resources so that individuals and families can stay out of crisis, remain housed or seek housing and improve health.
For more than 50 years we have remained focused on improving the quality of life and the stability of our community by expanding services of food, non-food and wraparound resources to meet the growing needs in our community. Led by a volunteer Board of Directors, a skeletal staff and hundreds of volunteers, we are able to keep our administrative overhead low to ensure that your donation is used to purchase food and support needed programs. We view this as a huge responsibility and we endeavor to earn and keep your trust as a donor and supporter.
